Victaulic joints thin-wall stainless steel for hospital in Germany

Thin-wall stainless-steel piping has been installed to serve heat exchangers on the roof of a hospital in Germany with the help of Victaulic’s StrengThin 100 coupling system. A qualified welder was not available, and there was, in any case, concern about overheating the pipe when welding and the very tight project deadline.

The Alfried-Krupp Hospital is an academic hospital of the University of Duisburg-Essen. The owners decided to install stainless-steel pipe on the roof rather than the PVC pipe used in the rest of the system.

The StrengThin 100 system is designed for jointing 2 mm wall stainless-steel up to16 bar. The couplings are installation ready and do not need dissembling.
