Heat-recovery ventilation interacts with multi-split air conditioning

By recovering both latent and sensible heat, the Eco V heat-recovery ventilator significantly reduces the energy consumption of an LG multi-split air-conditioning system.
LG now offers heat-recovery ventilation to operate with its multi-split air-conditioning systems. Eco V units incorporate a high-efficiency enthalpy heat exchanger that is said to be three times more efficient than one exchanging energy according to temperature only. Both temperature and humidity are monitored, so fresh air is introduced while the indoor temperature and humidity are maintained. Cooling loads are reduced in the summer, and humidity is reduced in the winter. These units reduce the load on an LG multi-split air-conditioning system, cutting energy consumption and running costs. Four sizes of Eco V are available, with air volumes from 500 to 2000 m3/h. There are two control options. A wired remote controller enables the timer to be set and errors identified and diagnosed. A central hard-wired controller gives control of up to 16 indoor units.
