Building Services Summit announces new speakers

Building Services Summit

New speakers that have been announced for the Building Services Summit in London on 23 November include Roy Evans of the Cabinet Office, who will lead on Soft Landings, which is an objective of the Government’s 2016-2020 Construction Strategy. He will be joined by Dr Karon Buck, founding principal of Medway University Technical College, a new school for students aged 14 to 19 from Medway.

Other industry experts who will be joining the discussion include Bill Wright of ECA, who is an independent consultant on energy, control and sustainability matters, and Graham Wright, legislation specialist with Daikin and president of FETA. Other members of the discussion panel include David Frise, head of sustainability for BESA, and Stephen Hill, an associate and building-performance engineer with Arup.

Topical issues to be discusses at the summit include the following.

• Is the process of construction broken?

• Do Building Regulations stifle innovation?

• Why aren’t clients using the technological tools that are available?

• What are the alternatives to the current process of construction?
