Lochinvar improves controls for EcoKnight water heaters

Lochinvar, water heater, DHW, domestic hot water

Lochinvar has revamped its EcoKnight range of gas-fired, condensing water heaters and added a number of enhanced control functions. Built-in Smart System controls provide a wide variety of control options without the need for a building-management system, significantly reducing the installation cots. The water heater can be connected to a BMS if required.

The Smart System controls provide cascade management of up to three EcoKnight water heaters, as well as fully modulating pump control and a night-setback facility, which can also be used for a pasteurisation program. The contractor or service company can add their details to the full LCD display.

There are eight models of EcoKnight water heaters with outputs from 710 to 3820 l/h with a temperature rise of 50 K. As circulating water heaters, they provide higher hot-water-recovery rates than storage equivalents.

Premix burners have a 5:1 turndown ratio. Seasonal efficiency is up to 96.7%.NOx emissions are 39 mg/kWh, so all models qualify for the maximum three BREEAM credits available for low emissions.
