Hoval and Riello secure boiler contract for New Papworth Hospital

Hoval, Riello, boilers, burners, space heating

Hoval boilers fitted with Riello dual-fuel low-NOx burners have been selected by Skanska for the New Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire. The precise matching of boilers and burners will ensure optimum energy efficiency with low NOx emissions. A key element of being specified for the project was the ability of Hoval and Riello to supply BIM-compatible product information for incorporating into the model.

Two Hoval Max-3 2.2 MW boilers with Riello RLS300/EV burners will be used as the lead boilers to provide space heating and hot water for the 40 000 m2 hospital, backed by a 530 kW Max-3 boiler with RS68/EV burner. Hoval will also supply two 1100 kg/h TDHU steam boilers, both using Riello RLS 120/EV burners.

All burners incorporate inverter-driven fan motors and full electronic control with an interface providing real-time information for the end user.

Max-3 boilers have a 3-pass design to deliver net efficiencies up to 95.2%. The TDHU steam boiler also uses a 3-pass design, combined with a large flame tube and a large water capacity to ensure long run times for enhanced efficiency.
