Guernsey school enjoys pick’n’mix heating

Dunham-Bush, space heating, heating, perimeter heating, radiant heating, fan convector, fan convection

Heating for the refurbishment of a primary school on the island of Guernsey is delivered by a range of systems from Dunham-Bush — including fan convectors, perimeter heating and radiant panels. The heating system for St Martins Primary School was designed by Bob Farrell of Channel Design Consultants.

Series AM 25 and AM 20 fan convectors combined with Finvector perimeter heating were selected for classrooms.

Series BM chassis units were installed within a wall void in the main hall, with the only visible evidence of a heat emitter being the grilles fitted flush to the wall.

In one area where wall and floor space were not valid siting options and fast-response heating was essential, a Series 600 fan convector was installed into a ceiling grid as an overdoor heater to eliminate the ingress of cold external air.

Finally, freely suspended Evo-lite radiant panels were installed in the main activity area (pictured), freeing up wall space.
