Heating and cooling for Earth Energy are linked to the ground

The ground acts as a source of heat and heat rejection for this installation at Earth Energy in Dagenham.
Both units are connected to vertical ground-loop heat exchangers and serve 4-pipe fan-coil units with water-side control installed in the ceiling voids Fan-coil units were chosen for their compatibility with ground-source heat pumps. Their use also avoids the need to run refrigerant pipework throughout the building, avoiding the danger of refrigerant leaks and health-and-safety issue. Buffer vessels and pump sets were provided as separate items mounted in the pipework.

Government’s heat pumps plan “doomed to failure”

The Government’s plan to increase heat pump installations is “doomed to failure” without a substantial increase in training for installers, according to consumer advice specialists at The Heating Hub
