The new Vitocrossal 200 CI3 offers sophisticated condensing technology on a 55% smaller footprint for apartment buildings, commercial enterprises and local authorities.

Viessmann Climate Solutions UK has launched a new range of high-efficiency, low-emission, commercial gas condensing boilers with the introduction of the new Vitocrossal 200 CI3.

With eight output sizes from 80-640 kW and integrated-control cascade operation up to 5120 kW (eight units), the all-new Vitocrossal 200 CI3 is flexible and compact, making it ideal for modernisation projects or buildings where space is limited. Each sleekly styled, streamlined unit is just 750mm wide, occupying 1.07m2 of floor space – a reduction of 55% compared to previous Vitocrossal 200 models.

Thanks to its single or dual modulating MatriX cylinder burner with stainless steel heat exchanger, as well as an automatic combustion controller that contributes to ease of commissioning and increased operational safety, the Vitocrossal 200 CI3 provides consistently efficient and high quality combustion throughout its long service life.

The boiler has a standard seasonal efficiency of up to 94.8% and NOx emission levels below 27 mg per kWh. A self-calibrating O₂ sensor automatically adjusts the MatriX burner to match different types of gas so natural gas and LPG can both be used. Additionally, the product is prepared for future changes in gas fuels.

Performance is further enhanced by the boiler’s large modulation range of 1:10, which offers greater efficiency at partial load. It also has two return connections as standard, so that there can be low- and high-temperature circuits if desired, with a lower temperature return for better condensation. The maximum flow temperature of the high-temperature circuit is 95 degrees Centigrade.

The Vitocrossal 200 CI3 adheres to Viessmann’s philosophy of using a high water content heat exchanger. This avoids the requirement for a minimum water flow, which reduces the need for expensive and energy-consuming boiler shunt pumps.

Ease of installation and management

Supplied with integrated wheels and a practical transport pallet for enhanced manoeuvrability as well as a simplified electrical-connections terminal easily accessible at the back, the factory-tested, pre-assembled units are particularly convenient to install and service. Complete accessory packs are available for room-sealed installations and twin solutions and all components can be easily reached from both the front and the rear.

Viessmann’s ViGuide app for installers makes the intuitive commissioning process easy, with the option of using a smartphone or tablet instead of the integrated digital control panel. It also gives contractors direct access to optimise and monitor the system remotely on an ongoing basis.

The Vitocrossal 200 CI3 is the first of Viessmann’s commercial boiler offerings to be integrated into its One Base climate- and energy-management platform with built-in WiFi. One Base allows for simple, reliable and convenient operation of the entire energy system, as well as automatic optimisation of energy flows for maximum cost-effectiveness. This is via the Viessmann ViCare app for end-users and their maintenance contractors, and via the ViGuide app for installers and M&E contractors. One Base can easily be connected to other digital building management systems (BMS) to provide a single, user-friendly control and monitoring solution, without the need for an internet connection (although wired ethernet can be used if preferred).

“This is a very user- and installer-friendly product that fills a market need for a really modern and efficient condensing boiler range that can cover heat demand up to 5.12 MW,” said Viessmann Technical Director, Christian Engelke. “We have customers that love the Vitocrossal 100 CIB so much they were previously installing 10-12 units to achieve their required output. Now they can meet their requirements with just two to four of these new models, which is much better as it reduces control complexity, spares requirements and is easier for the client. We’ve designed the Vitocrossal ranges to precisely meet the current and future needs of our customer base.”
