Qvantum extends QE cooling capability
Qvantum has enhanced its award-winning QE modular exhaust air heat pump, reducing the system’s lower leaving water temperature range from 18°C to 14°C.
Available in 4kW and 6kW capacities, the QE is designed for new-build and retrofit applications where low temperature heating, hot water, ventilation and cooling need to be delivered from a compact system.
By reducing the lower leaving water temperature to 14°C, the system gives developers and designers greater flexibility when developing strategies to reduce overheating risk under Building Regulation Part O.
The Climate Change Committee’s latest UK climate risk assessment says cooling to protect people from heat will become increasingly important, with heat pumps that provide both low carbon heating and cooling identified as one route to reducing cost and disruption, particularly in new builds.
The QE combines an exhaust air heat pump and thermal battery within a single pre-plumbed module. Its 600mm x 620mm footprint allows it to be installed within a larder-style cupboard, helping to save space within the home.
