OCS Engineering aims to make a name for itself

Committed to a new approach to business — Richard Burl, managing director of the newly formed OCS Engineering.
OCS Engineering has been launched as a new company to replace what was formerly the technical division of OCS — the £600 million property support services company that delivers ‘one complete solution’. The new company provides a comprehensive range of services embracing design-and-build projects, the design and installation of mechanical and electrical and air-conditioning works, building-control and building-management systems, complete refurbishment projects and engineering maintenance. Richard Burl, managing director of OCS Engineering, emphasises that the name marks a new approach to doing business. ‘The new name sets down a marker as we embark on a plan to deliver a fundamentally changed services portfolio.’ OCS Engineering is committed to go beyond the brief by actively seeking out energy-saving solutions, maximising the potential of facilities employed and recommending changes that will give greater environmental protections. This proactive approach is also embodied in OCS Engineering’s view of the future in client servicing. Projects planned include dedicated ‘client rooms’ on the company web site, using thermal imaging to reduce energy waste in buildings, leading-edge intelligent building-management systems and Internet-based technologies such as XDA messaging to improve response and efficiency for its own engineering teams.
