Hot water is not in paltry supply at poultry factory

Hot water is being generated at an efficiency of up to 96% (net) for poultry company Moy Park Ltd at its factory in Derbyshire by a Lochinvar installation. The equipment comprises a Power-fin gas-fired water heater and an LST 250 storage tank with a capacity of 115 litres to provide a hot-water supply for the factory’s washdown facility. The system was design by t’ansons combustion engineering and installed in the factory’s plant room. David Pepper, managing director of Lochinvar, explains, ‘The Power-fin range is renowned for its fast hot-water recovery rates, so it was ideal for this application where peak demands occur at certain times in the day. Power-fin also has an extremely small footprint which is an important factor for plant rooms with restricted space.’
