Autodesk signs software agreement with Lindab

Lindab’s CADvent software can now be used with Autodesk Building Systems (ABS) following a new joint marketing agreement. Users of ABS will be able to insert Lindab components, including its range of ventilation ductwork products, directly into their designs. They can also use CADvent with ABS to produce complex system designs with a integrated system calculation modules, complete bill of materials, specifying the exact Lindab ductwork needed. This will mean fewer designs, fewer special orders and no over-ordering. Björn Broberg of Lindab says, ‘We’ve been watching the increasing take-up of ABS in the building-services community and are delighted to link up Autodesk and share in its growth. We believe this new agreement will help further extend our reach across northern Europe. Importantly, it will also be highly beneficial to the progress of the sector as a whole.’ Pete Baxter, sales director for northern Europe with Autodesk Building Solutions Division, says, ‘This partnership marks a new milestone for ABS on its way to becoming an industry standard. It will add significant value for ABS users, enabling them to more quickly and accurately specify components and so work more cost effectively.’
