Ground water provides energy for heat pump serving Hertford country house

Hertford
The requirements of the underfloor heating, swimming pool and domestic hot water in this country house near Hertford are met by a Nibe heat pump drawing heat from an underground water source.
Underground water provides the heat source for a new country house near Hertford. It is situated in 27 acres of parkland and six en-suite bedrooms, sauna, gymnasium, full-sized snooker room, cinema, swimming pool, kitchen, laundry and wine cellar. A Nibe Fighter 1320 brine/water heat pump draws heat from an underground source via a Nibe Plex heat exchanger. The water is then discharged to one of the estate’s three lakes. The installation is expected to handle the heating requirements of the swimming pool, the DHW system and the underfloor heating systems. Although the heat pump is expected to be adequate for the task, a gas boiler has been installed to provide backup if necessary.
