AHUs for hospitals

Technical guidance for designers specifying air-handling units for hospitals has been published by the Air Handling Unit Group of HEVAC. The group recognises that there has been confusion in the industry due, partly, to contradictions in requirements in the Current CO4 and HTM2025 specifications. The new guide encompasses the requirements of HTM 03-01, which has yet to be published as an amended and updated replacement for HTM2025 . Some of the key changes to the specifications include the omission of dagger plates, the clarification of cooling-coil drain pan requirements and accepted recovery devices.
