Andrews consolidates its position in army supply chain

andrews
Andrews has continued its ongoing supply of water heaters for Rock Barracks in Suffolk with two MAXXlfo condensing storage water heaters to supply showers in the sports hall. The new barracks is being built on the site of the former RAF Woodbridge and is part of the MOD’s SLAM (Single Living Accommodation Modernisation) project. The water heaters in the sports hall provide abundant and virtually instantaneous hot water. Like all other gas appliances on this isolated site, they operate on LPG. The model CWH 30/200 for this project has a storage capacity of 200 litres and a heat output of 30 kW. The fully modulating burner and design of tank enable up to 80% of the tank volume to be generated in condensing mode at an efficiency of 109%. Heat input and flow are carefully regulated to produce a closely controlled water temperature. A high-temperature anti-legionella programme is incorporated. Other water heaters installed at Rock Barracks include 12 Supa-Flo R300 models — a range of gas-fired high-efficiency condensing non-storage water heaters capable of supplying large volumes of hot water. They were installed in pairs in plantrooms in the accommodation blocks. Space was very restricted, so the duty-to-footprint ratio was a major consideration. All units were supplied by Pipeline and installed by Skanska Rashleigh Weatherfoil.
