Chilled beams have adjustable air flow

The chilled beam that can be adjusted like a ceiling diffuser — the IQID range from Fläkt Woods is designed for installing in false ceilings.
IQID chilled beams from Fläkt Woods are available as basic models but can also be equipped with features to provide multi-functional chilled beams. They include comfort control, two rows of holes for high air flow, flow-pattern control, control and regulation equipment, lighting and provision for a sprinkler system. Flow pattern control is available for induction beams and enables the air flow to be directed up to 45° through integrated vanes. Different directions can be set at intervals of 300 mm. This feature comes into its own when increased air flow is required, as it enables the flow pattern to be adapted to maintain optimal comfort in the room. IQID units are intended for flush mounting in false ceilings, so they have a covered upper side with dimensions adapted to a false-ceiling module of 600 mm. Linden Shuttleworth, sales manager with Fläkt Woods, explains, ‘Consultants and customers have been asking for a truly flexible energy-efficient chilled beam. With the IQID, they have a chilled beam that can be adjusted almost like a ceiling diffuser, with a complete range of functions required for all indoor climates.’
