Facilities for training hundreds of air-conditioning engineers a year have been opened by Toshiba Carrier at Leatherhead.
A training centre serving Europe, the Middle East and Africa has been opened by Toshiba Carrier at its headquarters at Leatherhead. Commercial director David MacRae, explains, ‘The establishment of an up-to-date training centre is just one of several important training initiatives that will ensure Toshiba Carrier is again seen as one of the main players in training the industry. ‘We expect hundreds of engineers to use this facility in the next few months. We are also working with forward-looking partner institutions such as Dudley College, and will shortly be making further announcements about new CPD programmes.’ The new centre includes a showroom, seminar areas and a hands-on area with working equipment. A wide range of Toshiba air-conditioning systems and controls is included. A controls wall has been constructed to enable training on the comprehensive controls options that are being used on the installed systems. Part of the facility is dedicated to a selection of Carrier air-conditioning systems and controls. Commercial director Richard Ward says, ‘I am very enthusiastic about the opportunity this presents for increased Carrier product and technical training, which was seen as the industry benchmark for many years. There is a classroom area with facilities for up to 40 people at once. Separate entrances enable separate events to hosted at the same time.
