Sleeves restore the fire rating of ceilings

Aico's Firecap CFS100 series of recessed fan and vent sleeves is designed to restore the fire rating of ceilings penetrated by recessed ceiling fans and ventilation ducts. When a hole is made in a ceiling for a polymeric fan or vent, it compromises the fire-safety rating of that ceiling, and the hole must be stopped in accordance with Approved Document B of the Building Regulations. If a fire breaks out, the CFS100 sleeve expands internally to crush the spigot of the fan or vent and create an effective barrier against smoke or flames. No additional support is needed, and the sleeve will only expand inward. The can be used to restore the integrity of 30- or 60-minute fire-rated ceilings.
