Moeller helps to make The Lodge luxurious

The flexibility of electrical distribution equipment from Moeller Electric has been fully exploited by Evans Electrical for The Lodge hotel in Cardiff, the first of a development of hotels specifically designed to combine luxurious accommodation with very competitive room rates. Comprehensive room services include power showers and air conditioning. The main incoming supply feeds a 3-phase 12-way Moeller MCCB panel, which is equipped with a 630 A busbar system. This compact board provides generous internal space for wiring, enabling cables up to 185 mm2 to be terminated in the board. Other benefits include the ability to use breakers with the same frame size for all outgoing ways, simplifying layout and assembly. The capacity of the board to accommodate the main supply metering equipment eliminates the need for a separate metering panel and its associated wiring. In guest rooms, a distribution board was required that could accommodate protective devices and also the contactors to provide guests with centralised control of their room lighting. The project also includes 25 single-phase MCB distribution boards with matching modular service boxes to serve pairs of guest rooms. Moeller distribution equipment also provides high-current supplies for the kitchen, laundry and plant room.
