Monodraught’s natural-ventilation range qualifies for Enhanced Capital Allowances
Now qualifying for Enhanced Capital Allowances — Monodraught’s Windcatcher natural-ventilation system.
Monodraught’s Windcatcher and Sola-vent natural ventilation systems have been added to the Carbon Trust’s Energy Technology List of products that meet the Government’s relevant energy-saving criteria — so that their use in projects qualifies for 100% first-year capital allowances. Sola-vent combines the natural-ventilation functions of Windcatcher and bringing daylight into the building. The allowances cover the cost of the products and also the cost of the associated fully automatic control systems and installation costs — as well as any modification required to the building or roof to accommodate these products. Directly related professional fees also qualify. Windcatcher and Sola-vent systems utilise natural forces to bring fresh air into a building and take out stale air. Windcatchers draw in air at roof level and deliver it to the room below, with a series of internal dampers to control delivery and distribution. Windcatchers have been installed in over 4000 projects over the last 15 year, with over 70% of them in schools and colleges to provide ventilation and avoid overheating.
