Having waited for a school building in Coventry to be stripped of asbestos, Weatherite Building Service was able to install a new kitchen ventilation system at Westwood School. This project was part of an ongoing programme by Coventry City Council to upgrade all school kitchens to bring them into line with the European environmental legislation. The work included installing an island-mounted kitchen ventilation canopy, ductwork systems and fans, gas interlock system and duct-mounted heating coil to temper replacement air to the kitchen — as well as replacing all kitchen pipework. The new system is operated via an integral control panel.
