Eaton-Williams launches range of cooling units for large data rooms

Eaton-Williams no offers computer-room air-conditioning units with cooling capacities of up to 120 kW.
As part of its Cooling IT technology portfolio for tackling heat loads generated by blade servers in data centres, Eaton-Williams has launched a range of large data room (CRAC) units. The heat generated by densely packed blade servers can necessitate the amount of equipment housed in racks to be reduced or fewer racks to be used in each room — but these new units from Eaton-Williams are designed to overcome those problems. Moducel DRU (CRAC) air-conditioning units are available with cooling capacities of 80, 100 or 120 kW in chilled-water, DX, DX with water-cooled condenser and glycol free-cooling configurations. The units are configured to take return air at high level. This air is filtered and conditioned before being discharged via the base fan section in the ventilated raised floor. Multiple high-efficiency direct-drive fans deliver air efficiently and provide inherent redundancy. If required, units can be fitted with speed-controllable, energy-efficient EC fans. Customised control systems provide ease of integration for upgrading existing sites. Fully programmable direct digital controllers provide customised programming. Network capabilities include Modbus and SNMP protocols and web-server capability.
