Ferroli combi boilers are part of 21st-century makeover of Victorian houses

Upstairs, downstairs — to meet the heating and hot-water requirements of regenerated homes in Salford, with bedrooms on the ground floor, Ferroli condensing combi boilers are being installed.
Condensing combi boilers from Ferroli are being installed as part of a major regeneration project in Salford. Developer Urban Splash is giving hundreds of Victorian terraced houses a 21st-century makeover at Chimney Pot Park, and mechanical contractor RAD Mechanical Services recommended 25 kW combi boilers from Ferroli’s SEDBUK A-rated Optimax range for the projects. The 349 houses at Chimney Pot Park are being turned ‘upside down’ by Urban Splash. The interiors are being removed, leaving only the brickwork facades. The remodelled homes will have open-plan living spaces on the first floor, with two bedrooms and a bathroom on the lower level. The boilers are generally being installed in ground-floor utility cupboards and, given the unusual interior layout, required non-standard flues, with long runs and offsets where straight flues to outlet points were not possible.
