VRV air conditioning is on the menu at Old Orleans restaurant

Adding to the ambience of the refitted Old Orleans restaurant at Lakeside in Essex is Daikin VRV air conditioning.
As part of an indepth refit of the Old Orleans ‘floating’ restaurant at the Lakeside retail complex in Essex, Daikin VRV air conditioning serves the bar on the lower deck and restaurant on the middle deck. Moored alongside the Boardwalk at Lakeside, the restaurant faithfully reproduces the environment of a Louisana riverboat and serves southern American cuisine. The heat-pump VRV air conditioning was specified by consultants The Jones Partnership of Swansea and installed by Summit Design of Wooburn in Bucks. There are eight floor-standing fan-coil units on each deck with cooling capacities of 4.8 kW and heating of 5.9 kW. Airflows are 0.2 to 0.27 m3/s. Energy-efficient supply and extract ventilation for the toilets on each deck is provided by Daikin VAM heat-recovery ventilation units in the false ceilings. The two heat-pump outdoor units are located in the ‘wheel house’, each having a cooling capacity of 45 kW and heating of 50 kW. Their EER and COP are, respectively, 2.81 and 3.79. The system is controlled via a Daikin BACnet gateway interface with the restaurant’s building-management system, with local temperature control via room-temperature sensors.
