Solatubes brighten residential regeneration
Natural daylight is delivered to the bathrooms and stairwells of 31 newly built Victorian-style town houses in Salford by Solatube daylighting systems. Developer Godliman-Watson Homes chose products from the Brighten Up range for this project in Albert Park Views. The developer wanted to bring the maximum amount of daylight into the bathrooms and 5.5 m-high stairwells, a requirement that is met by the patented Raybender 3000 lens and LightTracker reflector technology within the roof-mounted dome. Captured daylight is ‘bounced’ down the Spectralight Infinity tube, with a loss of only 0.3% on each reflection. A Solatube 160 DS unit illuminates each bathroom and also incorporates a ventilation kit with an in-line extract fan. The ventilation system complies with Approved Document F1 2006. SolaLighting can also include optional integral electric lighting. Daylight for the windowless stairwells is provided by Solatube 290 DS 350 mm-diameter units. Albert Park View is in the historic Broughton area of Salford and is part of a rolling programme of regeneration. For more information on this story, click here:Nov 07, 121
