training
The special training requirements of commercial boilers are fully catered for in this new facility opened by Buderus in West Thurrock.
A specialist commercial facility is part of a new training centre of Buderus at West Thurrock in Essex. It give heating engineers, contractors and installers the opportunity to undertake hands-on training with large boilers with outputs from 40 to 400 kW. Products representing the full range of Buderus high-efficiency commercial boilers and its extensive selection of commercial control system can all be found in this centre. The centre also provide accredited training courses for the Accredited Certification Scheme for Gas Safety, with external ACS assessors completing the final individual testing. ACS certificates are then awarded for COCN1, CIGA1 and CODNCO1 elements, authorising the installer to carry out work for commercial installations such as schools, hospitals, old people’s homes, bed-and-breakfast hotels, office developments etc. The centre includes working boilers into which faults can be introduced to provide training on fault diagnosis and correction, as well as installation and maintenance. The hydraulics of commercial systems is also covered in depth to demonstrate how important hydraulics is in maximising efficiency in a commercial system. The fitting of pumps and zone valves, how to link multiple boilers into cascades, how low-loss headers operate and where they are required can all be covered in detail in a practical way. The centre also includes advanced audio-visual classroom facilities, graphic displays and a canteen area.
