Simmtronic ahoy

simmtronic
A team from lighting-controls specialist Simmtronic and building-services clients finished in fourth place in the IRC Class 6 in the Little Britain Challenge Cup regatta at Cowes. It was one of 250 entries in the construction industry’s charity yachting event, and the 10-man crew comprised Simmtronic staff and different clients each day. A charter skipper supervised safety and was available for local and tactical advice. The yacht was helmed by Simmtronic’s Richard McCarthy, Steve Petts and Adam Savage in turn for a series of races. Kevin Stubbs was navigator, with Mario Costanzo as crew chief. During the four days, they were joined by crew members from clients companies, including NG Bailey, Phoenix Electrical, Skanska, Hilson Moran, Arup and FaberMaunsell. Over the years, this event has raised considerable sums for sailing charities to help disadvantaged or disabled people experience sailing.
