Big names sign up for carbon-cutting campaign

100 days
A host of big-name organisations have signed up to CIBSE’s 100 days of carbon clean-up campaign, which helps to raise awareness of simple behavioural steps and managerial initiatives that can cut carbon emissions from buildings. The campaign is run by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers and sponsored by E.ON, the UK ‘s largest integrated-energy company. BBC Wales, Brent Cross Shopping Centre and Bolton Wanderers Football Club are all taking action over the 100 days, along with London’s Natural History Museum, National Portrait Gallery and National Gallery. Consultants are represented by firms such as Faber Maunsell, Arup, White Young Green CB Richard Ellis and Capita Symonds. CIBSE president John Armstrong said, ‘We are pleased with the positive response to the campaign. Numbers are high, and the participants seem motivated and enthusiastic.’ It is not too late to sign up for the campaign, which runs until 20 December.
