AHUs designed to hospital specifications

AHU
Thermal Technology now offers air-handling units meeting hospital specifications.
Air-handling units for hospitals and similar buildings have been introduced by Thermal Technology. Their construction is based on the requirements to be able to sterilise sections and components. Inner surfaces are free from screws, fixings or other forms of protrusions that could harbour dirt and/or bacteria. The DWH range of air-handling units has Eurovent certification, and the casing specification conforms to EN1886 and RAL-GZ652 requirements. These units are also designed to meet the requirements of the National Health Service Specification C04 and the NHS Estates Technical Memorandum HMT2025. There is a full range of panel and bag filters with specifications from G3 to H14, including activated-carbon filters, which are held in galvanised or stainless-steel assembly frames. Heating and cooling coils are slide-in. Cooling coils are suitable for chilled water or direct expansion. The removable stainless-steel condensate tray extends into the access sections that are provided either side of the coil. These trays have a 1 in 20 fall and include a baffle plate under the coil to minimise bypass air. There is a stainless steel internal skin to all cooling-coil and humidifier sections. Fan sections are available with a range of centrifugal DIDW, forward- and backward-curved units with V-belt drives. Motors can be supplied for single-speed, two-speed or inverter application. There is also the option of inline direct-drive plug-fan units with inverter drives and no drive belts that might break up or shred into the conditioned air stream. There is a full range of heat-recovery sections, including plate heat exchangers with stainless-steel condensate trays, thermal wheels and run-around coils Attneuator sections can include a Melinex lining for added protection and to prevent the migration of fibres into the conditioned air stream. thermaltech@compuserve.com
