Cable-management specialist Marshall-Tufflex has published a briefing document to help electrical contractors and building designers pick their way through the maze of information about EMC capability, fire performance and environmental issues. Chris Scott, product manager with the company, says, ‘Specifying products and systems for modern building projects is no easy task. Not only must a plethora of building regulations and standards — both British and European — be met, but the properties of all materials used must be fully understood. The fire-performance section of the report is based on research recently published by BEAMA, which concluded that PVC-U materials outperform many other plastic materials in preventing fire.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government
