Village hotels are a breath of fresh air

Passivent, ventilators
New hotels being built by Village in the UK will use Passivent acoustic ventilators to ventilate rooms and reduce external noise by up to 44 dB.
Village hotels are a breath of fresh air A major expansion programme for Village Hotels is to use an approach to ventilating guest rooms based on Passivent acoustic wall ventilators. Village aims to open 10 new hotels a year in the UK, the first being the £14 million 4-storey hotel and adjoining leisure club at Ashton Moss and fronting the M60 Manchester orbital motorway. To ensure each bedroom maintains a fresh environment while avoiding intrusive noise from the nearby motorway, contractor ISG Totty proposed installing a Passivent Fresh TLF-dB acoustic wall ventilator into the top of the curtain-wall transoms in each of the 120 bedrooms. Chosen to meet client requirements for discreet, controllable background ventilation and the requirements of Part F1 of the Building Regulations, they give up to 5000 mm2 of ventilation and provide dust- and pollen-filtered air distribution throughout the room without draughts. They also reduce noise by up to 44 dB. The room occupant can adjust the ventilator using a slider-operated damper. Passivent’s entire range of natural ventilation is BBA certified.
