Grundfos takes to the lifeboats

All the pump requirements of the world’s first lifeboat college, opened recently by the Queen, are met by a range of equipment from Grundfos. The college is at the headquarters of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution at Poole in Dorset. It comprises a 60-bedroom residential training college connected to a survival centre with a lifeboat bridge simulator and a 25 x 10 m wave pool 4 m deep for training crews from the UK and overseas in sea-rescue and survival techniques. The pump solution comprises a range of circulator pumps, including UPS single- and twin-head and Magna electronically controlled circulator pumps, a Duopress twin-pump packaged pressurisation set and a Duocompact booster set complete with variable-speed CRE pumps to ensure that sufficient water is always readily available. The relevant tanks and valves were also supplied through Grundfos, with sister service company Europump undertaking the commissioning.
