Inviron donates redundant PCs to charity

Building-services contractor Inviron is adopting a new approach to disposing of its redundant computers by making them availble to disadvantaged communities in the West Midlands, instead of recycling them. 30 computers have already been made available to West Midlands IT recycling charity ReCOM, and one of the first organisations to benefit is Solihull Carers Centre, which provides information, advice and support to the carers in the Solihul borough — an estimated 21 000. ReCOM trustee Carol Wood comments, ‘As a charity, we approach companies such as Inviron to donate unwanted PCs to help us deliver more projects like these. Not only does this give direct benefit to the recipients but it also encourages others to support our local community and care for the environment. recom@cristina.org, tel. 08451 342343
