‘Green’ Insulation boards

Celotex has produced a comprehensive guide detailing the sustainability credentials of its insulation boards following an assessment by BRE. The downloadable guide sets out how the use of Celotex boards will meet the criteria detailed in the guide for sustainable homes. The guide also includes Celotex’s performance on key indicators such as Eco-Points, carbon emissions and transport pollution and congestion. Celotex products have achieved an A rating in the ‘2002 green guide to specification’ and can be used to earn credits in several sections of the ‘Code for sustainable homes’ The products have low global-warming potential and zero ozone-depletion potential.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
