Tuffa confirms its oil tanks compliance

Ensuring that oil tanks are safely installed and comply with regulations and building-control requirements is legally necessary.

Tuffa, which makes the FireStop oil tank, has found continuing confusion in some quarters regarding siting to meet the fire risk that could arise from buildings and boundaries.

Tuffa can confirm that its FireStop is not an alternative method of compliance to that specified in BS 5410. The design of the tank clearly fits two of the criteria in section 6.3 of BS 5410. This compliance with the BS has been accepted by Trading Standards and Local Authority Building Control.
