Pressure-reducing valve has wide operating range

Valve
The conical spring in Spirax Sarco’s DP17 pressure-reducing valve provides a setting range from 0.2 to 17 bar gauge.
Just one version of the DP17 pilot-operated pressure-reducing valve from Spirax Sarco covers downstream operating pressures from 0.2 to 17 bar gauge, eliminating the risk of the wrong valve being specified. These valves can be changed to a application with a different pressure requirement without the cost of changing the control spring. The new control spring is conical and provides variable-rate pressure control using a progressively small coil diameter. The variable rate of resistance is the key to accurate performance over a large pressure range. These valves are available in sizes from DN15 to DN50. and work by balancing the downstream pressure against the control spring, which then modulates the main valve via a small pilot valve.
