R410A provides key to air-conditioning upgrade

Yaskawa
Yaskawa Electric has migrated directly from R22 to an R410A Daikin VRV II air-conditioning system for offices at its Cumbernauld site.
Faced with not being able to upgraded its air-conditioning system because of the phasing out of R22 products, Yaskawa Electric of Cumbernauld has replaced and upgraded it with one based on Daikin VRV II equipment using R410A. As part of the £150 000 project, Daikin supplied 50 indoor and outdoor units for offices in the 10 000 m2 premises. Andy Smith of installer KB Refrigeration explains that because the market is in a transitional period as manufacturers move from R407C to the more efficient R410A, he had no hesitation recommending the installation of a VRV II heat-recovery air-conditioning system. Yaskawa is a world-leading manufacturer of inverter-drive motors, so the company is well aware of the benefits of this technology as extensively used in VRV equipment. marketing@macqueen-ac.co.uk
