Koolduct removes ductwork from project’s critical path

The installation of Kingspan’s Koolduct system in the first phase of Chelsea Bridge Wharf was so quick that the work could be taken out of the project’s critical path.
An installation rate for ductwork of three times the planned productivity for the first phase of Chelsea Bridge Wharf enabled 10 to 12 flats a days to be completed. That feat for this riverside residential development by Berkeley Homes was achieved using Kingspan’s Koolduct system. A total of 1700 m2 of Kingspan Koolduct was assembled on site and installed throughout Grosvenor Bridge House by Greenhall Insulation Contracts to supply ducting for the fan-coil air-conditioning system. The rate of installation was so much faster than planned that the ductwork could be removed form the project’s critical path. The ductwork was also completed ahead of internal partitions, so that holes did not subsequently need to be cut through each connecting wall. Another time-saving benefit of KoolDuct is that it is preinsulated, making it easy to install in the confined space between false ceiling and soffits.
