SES works on new schools and office refurbishment
Building-services company SES has recently completed £5.7 million-worth of M&E development work on one of the country’s first projects in the ‘Building schools for the future’ programme and has been award a contract worth nearly £9 million to design and install all aspects of the M&E services for Rail House in the Piccadilly area of Manchester.
SES worked with main contractor Costain at Tong High School in Bradford, a large multi-cultural co-educational secondary school serving a wide area of south-east Bradford. Following the completion of this project, SES has been awarded M&E contracts for more BSF schools in the Nottingham, York and Bradford areas.
The 10-storey Rail House project is due to re-open for business in the Spring of 2010. Working with principal contractor OCON Construction, SES will totally refurbish and update all plant rooms, which will accommodate state-of-the-art communication equipment and cabling for all of the new offices.
To address the problems of this city-centre project, extensive use will be made of prefabricated service modules.
