Sanyo and Carrier combine forces for absorption chillers

The availability of Sanyo absorption chillers will be enhanced by a distribution agreement with Carrier.
A distribution agreement between Sanyo Electric and Carrier will see Sanyo absorption chillers being sold with both companies brand names on the product through Carrier distribution channels in Europe, North America and South America. The agreement will combine the resources of both companies to promote sales of these chillers in parts of the world where sales have been low compared to electrically driven alternatives. Among the benefits of gas-fired absorption chillers are the use of water as refrigerant and reducing the demand for electricity. Recent improvements in efficiency, compactness and controls are making absorption chillers more economical, easier to install and a convenient alternative to electrically powered chillers. This agreement is expected to stimulate improvements in product development, production, sales capabilities and cost efficiency.
