The nearest Village Hotel to London, at Elstree, is fitted with a wide range of Oventrop valves.

A wide range of Oventrop valves was chosen by SIAS Building Services for the heating and cooling systems in the new Village Hotel at Elstree. It is the company’s closest hotel to London. Valves from 6 in down to 1/2 in have been installed for the hot-water and LPHW systems to serve the industry’s 120 bedrooms and leisure facilities.

The hotel also has eight meeting rooms, a Starbucks coffee house, grill and pub and kitchen. There is a 25 m swimming pool, health-and-fitness club, steam room, sauna and whirlpool spa.

SIAS secured the design-and-build contract for the M&E services, which include two large gas-fired boiler in the first-floor plant room serving seven heat exchangers, seven air-handling units, spot-heater batteries in the distribution ductwork and radiators in staff core areas.

Domestic hot and cold water is boosted and circulates around and throughout the leisure areas and up through the building to the bedrooms.

For hydronic balancing, SIAS chose 6 and 4 in double-regulating and commissioning valves, flanged Hydroset commissioning sets from 2.5 to 6 in, a wide selection of lugged butterfly valves, lever-ball isolation valves and strainers. All hot pipework is trace heated. Oventrop also supplied gas valves for the boiler plant room.
