Ball valves can also regulate flow

Belimo’s CCV quarter-turn ball valves incorporate an extra component that enables them to regulate flow. When it first begins to open, a Characterised Control Valve increases flow slowly. Thereafter, equal-percentage flow characteristic is provided, and the resulting output in a heating or cooling system is linear. These valves can replace globe valves for flow regulation, with the advantage of providing tight shutoff and eliminating leakage through the valve. To deliver the required flow coefficient (kv) different discs can be incorporated in these valves, which are available in sizes from 10 to 50 mm.
