Durapipe pipework is a star of Odeon refurbishment

Integrating new and existing systems during the refurbishment of the Odeon at Nuneaton was facilitated using Durapipe SuperFlo pipework.

A wide range of Durapipe’s SuperFlo pipework has been installed in the newly refurbished Odeon cinema in Nuneaton.

Contractor L. M. Straughan Ltd specified SuperFlo for the refurbishment of cooling systems for air-handling units. The cinema remained open while pipework in sizes up to 10 cm was installed to feed chilled water to new cooling coils.

The pipework was installed to work with existing air-handling units, so a diverse product was required that would fit the equipment already in use. Metal threaded fittings of SuperFlo products ensured a simple transition and provided reliability between the pipework and ancillary equipment.

Lee Straughan, managing director of the installation contractor, says, ‘We were installing a new cooling system alongside existing equipment in the building, so the product chosen needed to be adaptable and flexible. Durapipe SuperFlo made the project run very smoothly. Its light weight and fully integrated range of pipes and fittings ensured the pipework cold be quickly and easily fitted to our current systems.’
