Queen’s Award for ventilation controller

West Energy Saving Technologies has won a Queen’s Award for the continuous development of its Ventmiser CMSM automatic controllers for ventilation systems. These patented devices control fans or central ventilation systems by responding to the use of electrical cooking appliances, electric showers and conventional showers.

The company’s Phil West tells us that a popular application is in student accommodation to prevent false fire alarms caused by cooking without turning on extractor fans.

Other applications include reducing dampness, condensation and cooking odours.

Current sensors detect the use of electric cookers and electric showers, and thermostats can be used with conventional showers.
