NG Bailey prefabricates riser modules for Heathrow project

Heathrow

The first of 14 prefabricated modules that will form one of four core risers at Heathrow’s new Terminal 5C facility is lowered into position by NG Bailey. The risers will be up to 25 m high with a 24 m2 footprint.

The risers were commissioned by Carillion and made by Bailey Off-Site. They will supply all low-temperature hot and cold water and domestic services to the terminal and also house all principal ductwork runs.

Off-site manufacture will save about four months per riser over traditional methods.
