Combining video and fire system reduces false alarms

Siemens Sinteso

The Siemens Sinteso video fire controller (VFC) combines video technology with a fire-alarm system. The system can record and /or transmit images when an alarm or event is triggered to help fire and security officers identify and analyse the source of the alarm and react to it effectively — often avoiding evacuation.

Subsequent analysis of a recording can help verify the cause of an event and identify any offenders.

The VFC is easily installed with direct connection to video surveillance systems and fire-control panels via Ethernet and FDnew (Field Device Network) detector bus, making it fully compatible with the Sinteso range of fire detectors and the Siemens Sistore range of digital video records.

If a camera is damaged or tampered with, a report is sent to the fire-control panel to immediately alert the operator.
