Third-generation LG system offers simultaneous cooling and heating

LG

LG’s Multi V Sync heat-recovery system can deliver cooling and heating at the same time. This third-generation air-conditioning product is said to be especially suitable for hotels, hospitals and other buildings that normally require heating and cooling in different areas at the same time. COPs of up to 6.3 can be achieved when there is a demand for both heating and cooling.

Changeover between heating and cooling, and vice-versa, is said to take less time than other products.

Multi V Sync units can be used singly or in multiples. They are available in options from 22 to 45 kW, with up to 134 kW using three units in a single system.

A system is based on three pipes from the outdoor unit and heat-recovery (HR) boxes that distribute refrigerant to indoor units in its required state, depending on whether the demand is for heating or cooling. Up to four indoor units can be connected to an HR box, with each unit in a different mode. Pipes can be run from one HR box to the next, reducing the time and cost associated with branch pipes.

Up to 64 units can be connected to a systems. Commissioning is made easier by an auto-piping detection function and rapid changeover between heating and cooling.
