Oventrop takes control of DHW

Ease of commissioning and energy-efficient control of DHW in this new school in Somerset are provided by Oventrop Brawamix TMVs.

Oventrop Brawamix thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) are used in the DHW systems of the new £30 million Nailsea School to simplify commissioning and achieve significant energy savings by controlling temperature and flow in the DHW system. Aquastrom T Plus multifunctional secondary-circulation regulating valves have been installed in the return pipework.

Heat for DHW is collected from solar panels, supported by a biomass boiler using wood chips and a gas boiler.

This school for North Somerset Council is one of the first to be built as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme. Consulting engineers are White Young Green, with MJN Colston as mechanical-services contractor — both of Bristol.
