Hilton Building Services completes work on historic Derby landmark

This former maintenance shed for steam locomotives in Derby has been transformed into fkagship campus for Derby College

The £3.3 million mechanical-services contract to transform Derby’s Grade 2 listed Roundhouse building into a flagship campus for Derby College has been completed by the major-projects division of Hilton Building Services. The company also handled the 3D co-ordination of the M&E services information and worked alongside Imtech, which carried out the electrical installation.

Services include rainwater harvesting, heat-recovery systems and condensing boilers.

Neil Green, construction director with Hilton, says, ‘We have overseen the whole design and installation of all mechanical services on site, from above-ground drainage systems to the natural ventilation systems. The package of services that we have delivered will equip the college with all the necessary amenities to operate as a first-class higher-education facility.
