Sustainability comes to F3 motor racing

Low-carbon building-services design consultant G. K. Salter & Associates is partnering with Aaron Steel, who is racing the world’s first sustainable F3 racing car at Brands Hatch on 18 October. The car was developed by Warwick University. It is partly made from carrots and runs on chocolate and stale wine.

The bodywork is made from recycled rubbish, and the steering wheel is composed of waste from juiced carrots.

The 230 bhp engine is made from recycled aluminium running on biofuel made from chocolate waste and fermented wine dregs.
